In the article New 4-D Printer it is revealed that new things are coming that will change our lives. The author talks about heat being used to cause change. I’m wondering, why not sound? Need rafters for your building? Then tell the ingots you’ve lying around to form rafters? Construction sites could change fundamentally.
BTW, I’m posting this because I need to put up something hopeful after all the gloom.
I have heard some people claim that autism is a wonderful gift, coming as it does with all sorts of neat shit. I say fuck that and the sugarplum fairy it rode in on.
The stress you get from being autistic does not make the bennies worth a damn thing. I have work to do, dammit, and I need a safe place to do it in. Not just the work itself, but the time off for resting and thinking. A homeless shelter aint the place. When you’re autistic security is important, as is understanding.
I’ve got a confession to make, I’m not all that fond of wargames that say they are RPGs. You know, Traveller, GURPS, Dungeons and Dragons, and others. Pretty much the damn hobby. Don’t know about you, but where I come from it aint just murder hobos who get to have adventures.
To take your RPG past the mindless slaughter takes one very important thing, enthusiasm. Once you can fake that you’ve got it made.
Oh, and give your character’s a voice for crying out loud.
Bad: “The dragon is trying to fool you.”
Good: DM speaking as dragon; “My word, I wasn’t expecting company today, please excuse the mess.”
