Back on Nov. 8 of this year voters in the state of California voted to ban one use shopping bags. At least that’s what we said we were doing. It is true that free one use shopping bags are gone, but not one use shopping bags overall.
Now the 10¢ bags are supposed to be re-used, but these days who frets over ten pennies? A shopper may now have a tariff of from 10¢ to a few dollars depending on how much he gets, but for many people that extra cost is something they can well afford. I expect to see the cheap reusable bags continue to flood dumping ground and waterway and be a persistent nuisance when not a threat to the environment.
Once again you see people fooling themselves and avoiding doing what needs to be done.
