That’s about as far as I remember, but I do remember the gist; your fear isn’t you. Your fear is only a transient emotion that will pass. You are not your fear, when your fear passes you will be left and what once stressed you so will be gone.
I’m autistic, a high functioning autistic by still autistic. Things can get to be too much for my and I will have—as we call them—melt downs. Being terrified for no reason you can see is frightening, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Take a deep breath, let it out slowly, and let yourself relax. Find yourself a quiet place and just chill. And should some belligerent soul approach you just say, “May I help you?”. And always remember the words of the old rabbi who once said, “Be kind to those who persecute you, it’ll piss them off.”
To be honest with you here, it’s about bullying. Sexual harrasment and rape is a part of it, but that is all a part of bullying.
What is bullying?
It’s treating other people as if they were worthless. It’s treating what they are and what they do has having no real value beyond how you can use it to belittle them and amuse yourself. The worst thing about bullying is that the victim is made to feel worthless and undeserving of any consideration, and most often because the bully is a raging bigot.
Well I say fuck that. You get right down to it you have no damn reason to bully, no real reason at all. You don’t want to listen, you don’t want to consider the other has a person in his own right, then get lost. There is no real purpose in bullying other than to lord it over another or to bolster your own fragile ego. That’s my opinion and you can suffer.
You’re not alone on this planet and it’s time you woke up.
One last thing; has it ever occurred to you that you are being a failure when it comes to reproduction? That by bullying you are convincing other people that you would be a lousy mating partner and thus to be avoided. And that should you ever produce a child you are going to raise that child in a hostile environment where his survival and success is most likely going to be a dismal failure? Do you want to raise your kid in the sort of environment you hate so much? Then why do you insist that others have to live there too.
I’ve run across a story that tells us, this smells bad. It smells bad to prey animals, such as the one we are descended from and which we not not entirely changed from.
This is something you could use in your fanasy RPG. Let’s say the party is heading down a corridor when they pick up a bad smell. There’s blood in the area, and it tells those who do pay attention there is something wrong nearby.
You could even use it as warning, for who knows who might pick up the scent and come hunting? Orcs, goblins, even Klingons might come prowling around looking for a meal.
Fighter: Don’t worry about my gash, we have treasure to find.
Cleric: Shut your yap. I don’t want the local goblins to come looking for you to nosh.
In this story we learn that smart people tend to wander off track. For the most part it appears to be because being smart it really doesn’t take them all that much time to learn something, so their brains go off looking for more stuff to learn.
What this means is that schools that insist on treating all students alike are really causing serious damage. There are just some kids who need to be kept occupied, and when you let them get bored and restless they get into trouble.
Not only that, but we’re wasting a valuable resource. One kid learns fast, the other takes a bit longer. So when you have one person who understands why not ask him to teach the slower child?
Our goal really is not to keep control, our goal is to teach. So why not use what’s available to teach with?
At the National Scientist site there is an article on a pair of what appear to be primate teeth. What some have called human teeth. There’s a problem with that.
For one thing, who says they have to be human, or human-like? What makes them human, and are teeth like this unique to us? Or is it a matter of convergent evolution, of coincidence? If we had fossils of every tooth that once existented how many would look “human” even if the original owner wasn’t even primate or even mammalian.
One tooth has even been identified as a canine, while the other is identified as a molar. Now I look at the picture apparently of the two teeth and as far a I can tell they aint either. They both look to me as if they were both damaged, and they look remarkably alike. Now I’ve seen human canines and they have a single deep root. In both cases the two teeth apparently have a single truncated root. Far as I know only canines have a single root, and that is long.
Now take a good hard look at the two teeth in the picture in the article. Don’t know about you, but to me they look like the same kind of teeth. If it weren’t for some rather small difference in detail they could be copies of the same tooth. Depending on how the tooth was copied the differences could be due to copying errors.
What I’m hearing is people insisting it has to be because it fits a preconceived notion. Much like the claim that Weberpithecus naledi has to be a type of human because the discoverer, a Doctor Weber, needed to find a human. To me this is a case of people jumping to a conclusion because they got excited and irrational. We’re human, we do stuff like that.
My conclusion is; they’re not human, they might be canines or incisors, but neither is a molar or premolar. They may not even be primate. And I have a suspicion that both were damaged during the long years buried and are not complete speciemens. Of course, this assessment is just from a single picture and a proper exam could well tell us a lot more.
The one thing we can learn from this i the wisdom of the old adage, dont jump to conclusions. Check things out and check them out seriously. Most importantly, don’t guess. Make sure you know and if that means taking time then you take the damn time. Things don’t need to be what you need them to be.
