I’ve got a confession to make, I’m not all that fond of wargames that say they are RPGs. You know, Traveller, GURPS, Dungeons and Dragons, and others. Pretty much the damn hobby. Don’t know about you, but where I come from it aint just murder hobos who get to have adventures.
To take your RPG past the mindless slaughter takes one very important thing, enthusiasm. Once you can fake that you’ve got it made.
Oh, and give your character’s a voice for crying out loud.
Bad: “The dragon is trying to fool you.”
Good: DM speaking as dragon; “My word, I wasn’t expecting company today, please excuse the mess.”
For someone on the spectrum like me getting disappointed is a pain. As is having to do certain things you’re just not ready to do.
Today they’re cleaning at the shelter, which means I have to go somewhere else. So I’m now at the library fuming and dreading the experience. If being autistic is supposed to be magickal I’d sooner be mundane.
In other news I’ve learned I don’t qualify for a housing project. Seems I’m too old. Seems these folks want people 60 or younger, and in another 4 days I’m turning 64. I say this is discrimination and I say the Hell with them.
On the other hand I’ve been pre-qualified for a few medical studies. Any come to San Diego I do qualify for I should be able to get some extra money. But don’t let that stop you from donating—button in sidebar.
Now I’ve got documents to produce, then add them to this blog. You stay healthy
At the moment I am sort of on the street. That folks at Alpha Project San Diego want me in a better apartment, and to do that I have to be homeless. I’m currently at the Bridge Shelter at 16th and Newton, and while they do provide food, it’s not something i can really handle. That means I could use money for food I can handle, and drinks to wash it down. So send what you feel you can and I’ll hit a local diner or two.
