If there was one common theme in Matt Mullenweg’s State of the Word address this year at WordCamp U.S., it was that all roads lead to the block editor. His speech was primarily about blocks, …
I can understand Matt's enthusiasm for Guttenberg, it is tech indeed, but for me it's just TMGS (Too Much Good Stuff). It needs to be simplified.
Essentially, reduced to one "box" and everything else made an add on. Matters such as graphics, video, and the like. I've lost track of all the boxes available out there for Gutenberg, but I have the feeling that they don't need to be separated from text editing the way they are now. As it is now it's just too much work to compose and publish a post what with all the crap you've got to use in Gutenberg.
Given my autism it is for me, I have a feeling I'm not the only one. So Matt, please make it simpler. Focus on the composing of the post, then add the other stuff as part of the posting.
So I'm sticking with the classical editor, and waiting for functionality to return.
