The Dodo serves up emotionally and visually compelling, highly sharable animal-related stories and videos to help make caring about animals a viral cause.
What you see in this story is one man’s interpretation of what a cat is doing. Which is pretty much what most any cat does when showing affection. House cats do it, pumas do it, even Bengal tigers and servals. Yes, a cat does scent mark things by rubbing up against them, but they do it in large part as a way to demonstrate affection.
You get right down to it what the author of the article was doing was exhibiting prejudice and a blatant bias. He was being a small minded bigot and was really not to be trusted. Trust the cat. Trust the wolf, the rhino, even the wolverine, for animals can show affection for human beings.
